A political delegation from Mashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, led by Abubakar Hashimu Mashi, popularly known as Babangida Tuga Mashi, has pledged support to Senator Abubakar Sadiq Yar’adua, declaring readiness to align with him in advancing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the area.
The delegation made the pledge during a visit to the senator’s residence on Sunday, where they held discussions on strengthening party unity and addressing political challenges in Mashi LGA.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Babangida Tuga Mashi said the visit was aimed at consulting the senator and seeking guidance on fostering cohesion and effective organisation of the ADC at the grassroots level.
He noted that the delegation also presented some of the challenges facing their community, expressing confidence in the senator’s ability to address them.
According to him, the group was impressed by the reception accorded them, adding that both parties had agreed to work together in advancing the party’s interests.
“We have resolved to align with Senator Sadiq Yar’adua and work with him in building the ADC in our local government and beyond,” he said.
In his remarks, Senator Yar’adua called on the people of Mashi to embrace unity and collective action for sustainable political and socio-economic development.
He described unity as critical to achieving progress, urging party members to work together in strengthening the ADC in the area.
“As a leader, I belong to everyone. I urge you to unite and work together so that we can achieve meaningful development for our people,” he said.
The senator also commended the youth for their commitment and encouraged them to play active roles in advancing the party’s agenda in Katsina State.
The meeting was attended by political leaders from the 10 wards of Mashi Local Government Area, where discussions focused on strategies to reposition the ADC for growth and electoral success.
The delegation reaffirmed its loyalty to Senator Yar’adua, pledging full support for his political direction and commitment to the development of Mashi LGA and Katsina State at large.
